From monsoonal summers to dry winters, cycles of high and low rainfall are familiar in north Queensland. But as extreme events like floods become more frequent and severe, are coastal habitats still able to recover?
Hear from TropWATER researchers Dr Abbi Scott, Dr Adam Canning, and Dr Steve Lewis about what we know – and what we’re yet to learn – about how coastal ecosystems along the Great Barrier Reef are faring after these extreme weather events.
They introduce some of our ongoing projects investigating how flooding impacts mangroves and shorelines, seagrass, inshore reefs, and coastal water quality – and how we’re tracking recovery.
