Coral reef habitats around inshore islands of the Great Barrier Reef and the fish they support are vital for tourism and recreational fishing – but their proximity to land makes them vulnerable to human impacts.
This is a past webinar.
For 25 years, we've tracked fish and coral communities at over 100 sites around 21 high-use, high-value inshore Great Barrier Reef islands, and we've added 45 new sites around 17 islands in the last 3 years. Our long-term monitoring program now covers 2000km from the far north to the southern Great Barrier Reef, providing insights into how inshore reefs are coping with increasing impacts and the effectiveness of management strategies.
