Casual Research Worker

Dr. Richard C. Edmunds is a Research Officer at TropWATER focusing on environmental DNA (eDNA) research methods for the enhancement of conservation efforts (e.g., removal of invasive and protection of endangered species). This work builds on his previous research and personal interest in molecular genetics and functional genomics. Originally from the USA, Richard came to JCU back in 2006 to undertake his Ph.D. on the thermal adaptation of barramundi, after which he returned to the USA for two post-doctoral positions (Institute of Neuroscience and National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Ecotoxicology Program) before returning to Townsville in early 2017 to commence his current position as a Research Officer at TropWATER.
