Cecile Vulliet

PhD Candidate

Originally from Switzerland, Cecile moved to Australia in 2015 to pursue a bachelor of marine biology at James Cook University. After completing her Honours project with TropWATER, she is now doing her PhD under the supervision of Dr Nathan Waltham and Prof. Marcus Sheaves. Her thesis is investigating the values and functions of saltmarshes in tropical seascapes. She aims to embrace notions of hydrology, ecology, and seascape ecology to better understand saltmarshes and their synergies with the remaining seascape. Overall, she has broad interests in landscape ecology, water quality, food webs, and connectivity and aims to deliver good science for a better management and restoration of coastal ecosystems.
