Ian’s research focuses on marine and coastal habitat restoration (coral, shellfish, seagrass, kelp and saltmarsh), sportsfishing and ecotourism, coral reef ecology, climate change impacts on the marine environment and land-based effects on coastal waters. Ian is also the Assistant Director of TropWATER as well as the Centre’s Communications Manager, and is recognised for his work as a science communicator. Ian holds a PhD from James Cook University.
