Principal Research Scientist - Coastal and Estuarine Ecology

Ian’s research focuses on marine and coastal habitat restoration (coral, shellfish, seagrass, kelp and saltmarsh), sportsfishing and ecotourism, coral reef ecology, climate change impacts on the marine environment and land-based effects on coastal waters. He was previously the Centre’s Communications Manager, and is recognised for his work as a science communicator. Ian holds a PhD from James Cook University.
